Indonesia: Update on H5N1 Malang, East Java - 3 Test Negative

If this article was not out of ANTARA News, I may have discounted it. It is regarding HA(45), who was confirmed positive for H5N1, and has recovered. This article says that she enters the clinic 0n February 23rd. She gets swabbed, few days later, tests come in positive, they go to her home...but she moved...so they watch the neighborhood...10 days later, she comes back to the clinic...with different complaints....and illnesses. They re-swab her and she tests negative, as well as her family members.
Did they send her off initially with Tamiflu? Did she recover without it? I guess we may never know.

"After the notification from the Health Department, we also do a 'swab' at his family and the neighborhood, but none of them experienced the same symptoms with HP. In fact, HP's current condition is also healthy," said Enny.

According to him, in some health centers spread out in five districts of the region had no her ILI program, so residents who have symptoms of flu and sore throat did not recover within a few days would "diswab".

Alluding to an otherwise chronological HP positive A H5N1 was Enny said, on February 23, 2010 HP went to the nearest health clinic suffering from flu and sore throat.

Because existing ILI program, HP "diswab" by health officials and the sample sent to a laboratory. A few days later the results submitted to the Health Service of Malang and tested positive for H5N1.

After knowing the result is positive, Malang City Health Office address came to HP, but HP have moved from the address listed in the medical record of clinic. "Although HP has moved and we continue to conduct an examination of the surrounding environment," said
Enny.

Approximately 10 days after the announcement of the MOH, the HP came back to the clinic and check again, but with different complaints and illnesses. At that time, HP and his family "diswab" again and the sample sent to a laboratory in Surabaya and
the results were negative, including his family.

"Now that HP and his family good health and the environment is also no problem. What is important we remain Ill. menaktifkan and optimize programs at several centers," said Enny.
