Police and veterinary officials in Banteay Meanchey province on
Wednesday seized 300 chickens and ducks that had been imported from
Thailand and were suspected to be infected with H5N1, an official said.
The
poultry had entered the province through the Robeang O’Beichoan border
post and were being held at the provincial veterinary office while some
were tested for the virus, said Pang Vannasedh, deputy director of the
Banteay Meanchey Department of Agriculture.
