BEIJING, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- China's
national health commission said it has tightened supervision of
pneumonia and flu cases after a human case of the new strain of bird flu
was reported.The Jiangxi province in east China confirmed the case
of H10N8 on Wednesday, the National Health and Family Planning
Commission said.
South China's Guangdong province has reported six cases of H7N9 bird flu since October, while the Zhejiang province has had five cases in the past six months, Xinhua said.
The commission is urging local health authorities to make the prevention and the control of the disease a priority.
