It rises to 258 death toll from H1N1 in Egypt

Egypt recorded a death on Sunday more influenza A (H1N1) by raising the national figure of deaths to 258, said in a statement the Ministry of Health.

The deceased was a man of 53 years native of the governorate of Assiut, said the statement gave no further details.

Until now, Egypt has reported more of 15,800 new cases of influenza, according to the Ministry of Health.

Egypt confirmed its first death from influenza A (H1N1) on 19 July last year. The victim was a 28 year old Egyptian woman who returned from Saudi Arabia after performing the Umrah (pilgrimage to Mecca at any time of year). (Xinhua)
