The Health Ministry has warned people in Limpopo province to boil their water as a precautionary measure after the Limpopo River tested positive for cholera.
Health officials are running communication campaigns in the province to create awareness of the disease.
The ministry's Fidel Hadebe said washing fruit and vegetables as well, as basic precaution like thoroughly washing hands will minimise the risk of contracting cholera.
“People really need to boil the water so they minimise the risks of contracting the cholera disease,” said Hadebe.
