A Chinese health expert from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the country would likely face a human bird flu epidemic in the coming months.
At least three people have already died from the human form of the bird flu leading the center to call for greater preventative measures.
Experts fear that the Chinese New Year, where millions of people will be traveling, and the upcoming migratory season for birds, will increase the chances of infection.
Already there have been warnings not to eat poultry raised in China despite no evidence of bird flu cases in that sector. It is possible for chickens to carry the disease but not show symptoms, worrying experts even more.
