Commissioner Western Mr Joeli Rokovada has stressed that due to the continuous heavy rain and flooding in the western division, food safety and disease outbreak will become the main risk in the current situation.
Mr Rokovada made the comment when his team of government officials briefed Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama at the Commissioner Western's Office this morning.
He said that water disruption poses a major health hazard as people will tend to consume contaminated water once captured rain water runs dry.
"Its important that people must boil all drinking water before consuming," he said.
Meanwhile supply of fresh water to Nadi Hospital has been restored while other centres such as Ba are still without supply of fresh water.
