Health officials from a five county area will be hosting a day-long event April 25th to get input from the general public as to what needs to be done in the even of a "mass casualty event".
Residents of Ross, Pike, Jackson, Vinton and Hocking counties are being encouraged to attend the 8am-3:30pm public meeting at the Ross County Service Center at 475 Western Avenue in Chillicothe.
Wally Burden of the Pike County Health Department along with Rami Yoakum of the Ross County Health Department say this event will receive your concerns and suggestions about issues that will need addressed in such events as a "pandemic disease" or a large "man-made or natural disaster where casualties would become to large for emergency workers to solely meet the need".
Reservations for the meeting are not mandatory, but are encouraged. If you want to attend, contact the county health department in the participating county where you live.
