تلقى اللواء مجدى أبو قمر مدير أمن البحيرة، إخطاراً من مستشفى حميات دمنهور بالاشتباه بإصابة أحمد ياسر هنداوى(7 شهور)، رضا سعد جمعة (9 سنوات)، علاء سعيد أمين (18 شهر)، محمد محمود إبراهيم (3 سنوات)، وفاء حسين جمعة (3 سنوات)، وعلى الفور تم عزل الحالات وقائياً بالمستشفى بعد أخذ عينة دم منهم لتحليلها بالمعامل المركزية بالقاهرة لبيان مدى إصابتهم بالمرض.
