7-6 days, Vice Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan has evaluated the epidemiological characteristics of cholera and the situation in Vietnam through the latest research of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology disease risk. Accordingly, strains of cholera in Vietnam today than in 2007 are the same, but other genetic characteristics and virulence increases and more dangerous.
Pathogens as bacteria V.chlerae group O1, Ogawa and type of serum tube Eltor biological changes, which may cause more severe clinical disease situation, a good number of people carry germs and infections brought a lot of time and longer able to survive longer in the environment.
Deputy Minister Trinh Quan Huan as clearly, we present the same pathogenic strains cause disease in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Investigation also indicates, from early 2010 until now, the country has recorded 69 patients positive for cholera, in nine provinces. Most outbreaks are sporadic occurrence, no major epidemic and no secondary infections.
