3 Pregnant women admitted in critical condition, one in a coma.... in the past week, with severe pneumonia brought on 2-3 days after high fever is concerning. Posted here

Deputy Head of Emergency - active treatment, Hospitals PRIVATE Tropical Diseases, said this when all three patients were hospitalized with severe breathing problems manifested after 2-3 days of high fever and associated X-ray results showed that very severe pneumonia and mechanical ventilation are required.

Adm: Tropical Disease Hospital, 1 week of treatment – on ventilaltion whole time

Onset: Severe breathing problems manifested after 2-3 days of high fever

Notes: Upon admission, in coma, immediate Mechanical ventilation. Child born at 35 weeks, 1.7 kg. 5/19: Patient not on ventilation, discharge in a few days.

Diagnosis: Severe Pneumonia Unknown Cause. Negative for H5N1, and A/H1N1, A/H3N2

Dong Thi Xoan

19 yo – 24 months pregnant

From: Hai Phong

Adm: 5/5 Central Tropical Disease Hospital

Onset: Severe breathing problems manifested after 2-3 days of high fever

Notes: Critical, still on ventilation

Diagnosis: Severe Pneumonia Unknown Causes. Negative for H5N1, and A/H1N1, A/H3N2
Confirmation: Viral Pneumonia

We do not have information yet, on the 3rd Pregnant Woman. In my Commentary of the 14th I ruled out the 3 patients that had utilized the Negative Pressure room here

I believe this room treated 3 patients, 1 with H5N1 and 2 with viral pneumonia. Trung Van H., 22 (in Cho Moi, Bac Kan) would be the H5N1 patient, and
Xoan Do Thi, 19, in Hai Duong province and one other would be the "2" with viral pneumonia.....

Hospitals that also overload

In recent days the number of patients to examination at Children's Hospital INVESTMENT (Hanoi) increased from 1800 to 2200 children per day (up about 700 patients per day).

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Director of Children's Hospital said, in this hospital had patients died of severe pneumonia, while the test samples of patients not identify virus strains / bacteria. Not finding the exact root cause will make the treatment more difficult.
