In the wake of bird flu in Assam, precautionary measures have been taken in Madhya Pradesh to prevent spread of the disease, official sources said today.
A five-member team of the Animal Husbandry Department Research Laboratory visited poultry farms and backyard units to collect the information about the birds on Narsinghgarh Road and Bhadbhada Road near the state capital yesterday and the birds were found healthy.
Poultry farm owners were also told to strictly follow bio-security norms and to inform the district authorities in case of unnatural death of birds.
Team also collected 45 samples and sent them to High Security Animal Disease Laboratory of the Agriculture Ministry, sources added
