MALDA, Dec. 17: When north Bengal is reeling under Bird flu, the arrival of minister for animal resources development department, Mr Anisur Rahman, in Malda on 21 December is likely to make hardly any difference. With the Sujapur by-poll slated for 21 December, the minister would not be able to take stock of the situation since if he talks to the officials, the would be defying the model code of conduct prior to the elections. It should be noted that the minister is coming to attend a political meet and not look into flu fighting measures. Government officials would not meet the minister on 21 December, due to model code of conduct, said the Malda ADM. Mr Asim Dasgupta, the state finance minister, would be coming to Malda tomorrow to attend celebration of 150 years of Malda Zilla School. Interestingly, none of the ministers would be able to meet the government officials to take stock of the flu situation. |
