Lucknow: In the wake of bird flu in Assam and West Bengal, the Uttar Pradesh Government has issued directives to district magistrates to take all precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of avian influenza in the State.
Task forces were constituted in every district and those with sanctuaries frequented by migratory birds or falling in their flight routes were asked to take extra care.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Anis Ansari, who conducted a meeting of the task forces to review preparations, said letters were being sent to district magistrates to remain vigilant. Also, check posts would be set up to examine health certificates of poultry brought from Assam and West Bengal.
