وقال طنطاوى، فى تصريح خاص لليوم السابع، إنه ينتظر خطابا رسميا من وزارة الصحة بضرورة إلغاء الحج وتأجيل العمرة هذا العام حتى يصدر الأزهر فتوى بهذا المعنى.

وأضاف "فى حالة عدم إخطارنا من قبل وزارة الصحة فلن نتسرع فى إصدار تلك الفتوى حتى لا نثير الذعر والخوف بين
المواطنين".

وشدد طنطاوى على ضرورة اتباع الأجهزة الرسمية بالدولة لأسلوب تحذير المواطنين من مرض أنفلونزا الخنازير وتوعيتهم بخطورته وطرق تلافيه، ولكن دون مبالغة أو تهويل قد يبث الرعب داخل المواطنين.
