TOKYO (AP) -- Japan is ordering schools closed in a port city after confirming its first case of swine flu caught inside the country.
Officials say a high school student in the port city of Kobe has tested positive for the virus. He had not traveled abroad recently. Preliminary tests show two other students at the school may also have tested positive.
All Kobe schools are being closed for seven days in an effort to prevent further spreading.
The confirmed case is Japan's fifth. The first four were students and a teacher who recently returned from a school trip to Canada.
Malaysia is also reporting another case of swine flu, in a woman who recently returned from the United States. It's Malaysia's second confirmed case.
And in the U.S., authorities in Texas are reporting the fifth U.S. death linked to the virus.
