بدأت وزارة الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضى فى تنفيذ مخططها الشامل، لمكافحة مرض إنفلونزا الطيور لعام 2011 فى مزارع الطيور والتربية الريفية، والتى يشارك بها وفقا لتصريحات أمين أباظة وزير الزراعة نحو 12 ألف طبيب بيطرى ومساعد على مستوى الجمهورية، وأعدتها وحدة طوارئ إنفلونزا الطيور بالهيئة العامة للخدمات البيطري، بغرض السيطرة الكاملة على المرض، والتأكد من تطبيق المزارع للحد الأدنى من معايير الأمان الحيوى.
