Denmark: Suspected bird flu in Jutland

Fødevarestyrelsen suspect a udegående fowl crew in southern Denmark of being infected with bird flu.

The suspicion is due to some unexpected results in blood tests, which have been obtained in connection with the routine surveillance for avian flu.

Fødevareregion South has today closed its crew and will now take more samples, which in the coming days to decide whether it is bird flu.

- In Denmark we udegående monitor poultry flocks for bird flu, and from time to time, we therefore herds, which shows signs of less severe bird flu, explains beredskabschef in Fødevarestyrelsen Mortensen stone.
