Pakistan: Immediate Medical Tests on Every Pilgrim Returning from Hajj & Umrah #MERS #Coronavirus

KARACHI - Middle East Corona Virus is feared to have been transmitted to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia through pilgrims returning from Hajj and Umrah.
Media reports said that the National Institute of Health (NIH) had informed all provincial health departments in this regard. NIH had also directed provincial departments to monitor every person coming from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other countries.

Talking to reporters, an official of NIH had said that samples of patients suffering from respiratory infection should be collected immediately and measures for their treatment should be taken as soon as possible. He said that if evidence of the virus was found in any person, then his treatment should be started on emergency basis to prevent the spread of this virus in the country.
“Immediate medical tests should be conducted for the pilgrims returning from Hajj and Umrah,” he concluded.
