2,000 chickens culled in Manikganj #BIRD FLU #H5N1

Dhaka, Nov 25 (bdnews24.com) – Some 2,000 chickens of a poultry farm have been culled at Ghior upazila in Manikganj district as those were found infected with H5N1 virus, commonly known as bird flu.
The upazila livestock department culled the chickens of 'Mamataz Layer Poultry Farm' of Baniajuri area Thursday night. Upazila livestock official Shahidul Islam told reporters on Friday that the infection was confirmed Thursday morning. Later, the chickens were culled and buried immediately that night in presence of the district's executive magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun and upazila livestock officers.
Farm owner Mohammad Hiru Mia claimed that he suffered a loss of around Tk 1.4 million.
