Nepal-Bird flu detected in another farm #H5N1 #BIRDFLU

LALITPUR, MAR 25 - Two days after the detection of bird flu in a poultry farm in Bhainsepati, the flu virus has been found in another farm in the same place in Lalitpur district. The farm has been sealed after the confirmation of the possession of the virus on Sunday.

The virus fresh detection came two days after 6000 chickens were slaughtered after the confirmation of the flu virus in the farm of Dhiren Gurung.

According to Chief of the District Veterinary Office, Mogal Prasad Sah, the authorities swung into action after the chickens started dying regularly by sealing other nearby farms. The owner had complained of chickens dying regularly in the farm.

The farm is about 50 meters away from Dhiren Gurung’s farm, where traces of bird flu were found last week.

“We have deployed invigilators to search other places in the area for more cases,” said Sah. The authorities have been killing the chickens.
