Analyze information on turkeys infected with A (H1N1)
7:03 a.m. - GENEVA, Switzerland. (EFE). -Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) evaluated the information on an apparent infection of turkeys with influenza A (H1N1) in Chile to determine the implications of this unprecedented spread of the virus to birds.
"WHO has seen these reports and monitors to verify they are correct and to better understand what might be the consequences of infection in these animals," Efe said Thursday the organization's spokesman Gregory Hartl.
He argued that while this assessment does not succeed could not comment further.
The Chilean authorities have revealed that the National Agricultural and Livestock Service detect and control an influenza outbreak in turkeys at two farms in the region of Valparaiso last week.
This is the first time reported the presence of new influenza viruses in addition to humans and pigs.
