Detection and local development minister, Major General Mohsen Noamany for the arrival of deaths due to avian and pandemic influenza to the highest rates since the recognition and presence in Egypt, was during the period between the outbreak of the revolution of the 25th of January until the present time. Where Egypt has recorded since January this year until 22 June, 31 cases died of the disease, 12 of them.

According to WHO statistics, the total number of cases of bird flu in Egypt since its inception in 2006 reached 150 cases of whom 52 died, and reached its highest this year in 2011 until last June to a record 31 cases, 12 of them died.
