Market Speak : Maize Plummets As FAO Warns Indian Poultry Feed Affected by Bird Flu Disease

Strong selling intensified in maize market after the outbreak of bird flu disease in Indian feed quality of maize. The NCDEX maize futures wilted almost Rs. 80 per quintal in last three days.


The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) issued a latest statement calling on major importing countries to guard against a possible resurgence of the bird flu disease in countries such as Bangladesh, Egypt, India and Indonesia.

After the FAO warning , major importing countries such as Indonesia has issued a statement to confiscate and destroy poultry and poultry products coming from India, China, Vietnam and other affected countries.

Therefore , dearth of export demand in domestic market plunged the maize September futures ...
