Joins “IHR 2005” the operation
Last May 19, mainland health minister Chen Zhu when World Health Assembly (WHA), although opposed that Taiwan becomes the WHA observer, but proposed that lets Taiwan join “IHR 2005” the operation. Chen Zhu at that time said that the mainland once on own initiative many times consulted with WHO Secretariat, lets Taiwan join “IHR 2005” the operation.
According to “IHR 2005” arrangement, if Taiwan will erupt the significant epidemic situation in the future, WHO Secretariat may on the technical matters concerned, relate directly with Taiwan, will provide WHO directly the related bird flu guard, food security, the infectious disease field and so on first material. In addition, the Taiwan expert may attend the committee which in the future WHO convenes, WHO experts may also go to Taiwan to exchange, but does not need to pass through the mainland agreement again beforehand.
