Bangladesh-Swine flu cases rise to 16

Sixteen A/H1N1 (swine) flu cases have so far been confirmed in Bangladesh as seven more cases were detected in the last two days, a senior official said, reports Xinhua.
Mamun Rashid, a senior official of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) under the health ministry told Xinhua on Thursday that three more cases were detected on Wednesday and four on Tuesday.

Among the seven Bangladeshi patients, two persons returned last week from Australia and the United States respectively, while the other five had close contact with their relatives who returned from abroad recently, Rashid said.
He said the patients are all at home now under appropriate treatment and also under supervision of health officials.
Meanwhile, the earlier nine A/H1N1 flu patients have almost all recovered, Rashid said.
The government on June 18 confirmed the country''s first flu case. The patient was an 18-year-old young man who returned from the US on June 14.
