Egypt: "The health of the people" refused to prevent the Egyptians from the Hajj and Umrah

فشلت وزارة الصحة فى إقناع أعضاء لجنة الصحة بمجلس الشعب بإصدار توصية لإلغاء عمرة رمضان هذا العام، وذلك خوفاً من إصابة المعتمرين المصريين بمرض أنفلونزا الخنازير بالسعودية نتيجة الاختلاط والازدحام.

Ministry of Health has failed to convince the members of the People's Assembly Health Committee with a recommendation to cancel the Umrah Ramadan this year, and the fear of infection with avian Egyptian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, the result of mixing pigs and congestion.

أكد الدكتور عبد الحميد أباظة مسئول الاتصال السياسى بوزارة الصحة، والذى حضر اجتماع اللجنة البرلمانية نيابة عن الدكتور حاتم الجبلى وزير الصحة، إن إجمالى عدد الذين أصيبوا من فيروس أنفلونزا الخنازير فى السعودية 600 مصاب، وهو ما يشير إلى خطورة الأمر.

Dr. Abdel Hamid Abaza, political liaison officer at the Ministry of Health, who attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on behalf of Dr. Hatem el-Gabali, Minister of Health, the total number of people infected swine flu virus in Saudi Arabia, with 600, which refers to the gravity of the matter.

اقترح أباظة، على نواب المعارضة، الموافقة على إصدار وزارة الصحة لقرار بحظر أداء عمرة رمضان هذا العام، إلا أن الدكتور حمدى السيد رئيس لجنة الصحة بمجلس الشعب ونواب المعارضة رفضوا اتخاذ القرار فى غيبة نواب الوطنى، ومن المقرر أن تعقد لجنة الصحة اجتماعاً الأسبوع القادم لمناقشة هذا الموضوع فى حضور وزير الصحة.

Abaza suggested, the opposition deputies, to approve the issuance of the Ministry of Health's decision to ban the performance of Umrah Ramadan this year, but Dr. Hamdi Al-Sayyed, head of the People's Assembly Health Committee and opposition lawmakers refused to take the decision in the absence of the National Congress, is scheduled to be held to the Health Committee meeting next week to discuss the this subject in the presence of the Minister of Health.

يذكر أن اللجنة التنفيذية العليا بوزارة الصحة ستعلن اليوم، الأربعاء، عن قرارات جديدة لضبط الأعداد التى سيسمح لها بأداء الحج والعمرة هذا العام.

Is noteworthy that the Supreme Executive Committee, Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, on the new decisions to adjust the numbers will be allowed to perform Hajj and Umrah this year.
