A New South Wales property has been quarantined amid concerns the deadly Hendra virus could have spread to the state.
The Manilla horse stud, near Tamworth, was quarantined last night because one of its horses has been in contact with infected horses in Queensland.
A number of properties in Queensland have been quarantined and one horse has died from the virus, which is potentially deadly for humans.
NSW Chief Veterinary Officer Bruce Christie says the horse at Manilla is not showing any symptoms, but tests will be carried out in the next few days.
He says the results of the tests are not expected until at least mid-next week.
