Jackson County Memorial Hospital staff conducted an emergency pandemic exercise today to practice steps that would be taken in case of a flu or other severe illness outbreak.

An incident command center was set up, as well as a dispensing and vaccination clinic, and other areas that would be used in such an event.

Hospital staff, students from Western Oklahoma State College, members of the media, and local health department, Altus Air Force Base and City and County officials were involved.

JCMH spokesperson Bonnie McAskill led the group through the different areas of the exercise filling everyone in on how such an outbreak would be handled through the hospital if such an incident did occur.
