كان اللواء مجدى أبو قمر مدير أمن البحيرة قد تلقى إخطاراً من مستشفى حميات دمنهور باحتجاز نادية عرفة (14 شهراً) وأسماء مسعد محمد (7 سنوات) ونبيل الشاذلى عبد الرحمن (40 سنة), كما قامت مستشفى حميات الإسكندرية باحتجاز جنات محمد لاشين (شهرين), وذلك بعد الاشتباه فى إصابتهم بمرض أنفلونزا الطيور، حيث ظهرت عليهم أعراض ارتفاع شديد فى درجة الحرارة والتهاب بالحلق وضيق بالتنفس وآلام بالعظام, وتم أخذ عينة دم من المصاب لفحصها معملياً وبيان مدى إيجابيتها.
