ALGIERS, May 10 (KUNA) -- Algerian health authorities quarantined Sunday an Ukrainian national for 48 hours because they suspected he suffered swine flu symptoms.
A health official, requesting anonymity, told the press that the Ukranian, whose name nor age were not disclosed, was undergoing medical tests in Ibn Rushd Hospital in the city of Annaba, 520 KMs east of Algiers, to determine whether he was infected or not.
The Ukranian, who works in a foreign company and had entered Algeria through Annaba port, suffered fever and severe sinus, said the official.
Algeria had already announced that it was clear of swine flu cases, however it was beefing up medical control on expatriates and Algerian nationals who come from countries with swine flu disease.
