Another new H5N1 death in Vietnam #H5N1 #BIRDFLU

Add one case of death from bird flu

TTO - Day 1-2, Dr. Nguyen Van Binh - Director of Preventive Health (MOH) - have reported a case of death from bird flu in Soc Trang. These are deaths from A/H5N1 flu Monday in 2012, after the deaths in Kien Giang.


Patients who died were women, 26 years old, residing in incubation B1, Tan Thanh Commune, Thanh Tri district.

On 23-1, the patient developed symptoms of fever, cough and consult in Thanh Tri district hospital.

Disease should persist on 25-1, the patient was transferred to hospital in Bac Lieu Province with pneumonia diagnosed suspected viral evolution.

On 28-1, the patient died. Test results at the Center for flu - HCM City Pasteur Institute showed that patients infected with influenza virus A (H5N1).

According to the epidemiological investigation, patients were slaughtering and eating infected meat, in areas of patients living with sick poultry died phenomenon.

The Health Ministry has directed the Department of Health Soc epidemiological investigation and strengthen the implementation of measures to monitor and prevent influenza A (H5N1) in the area.
