Chile. May 13, 2012 (Noticiadeimpacto) The Chilean authorities are asking fishermen to help save the birds caught in their nets, after thousands were found dead along the coast of Chile this semana. Al least 2,300 dead birds were found on beaches between Cartagena and Playa de Santo Domingo, Chile,said Jose Luis Britos, professor of environment and director of the Museum of Natural History in San Antonio, Chile.Muchas of birds, which come from several species were broken wings and bruises on the outside of their bodies - injuries resulting from being trapped in fishing nets, said Britos.El professor explained that the bird deaths caused by fishing nets are produced each year, but never to this level. In a typical year, are 15 to 20 dead birds, said Britos.
