CM suspends EDO for failing to control spread of dengue virus

LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has suspended the Health executive district officer (EDO) for not taking effective measures to eliminate the dengue virus from the city, City 42 reported on Monday. According to the channel, a five-member task force has been constituted to immediately overcome the dengue virus. This task force will be financially and administratively autonomous and will take all necessary steps to eradicate the virus immediately.Addressing a high-level meeting for the elimination of dengue virus at the CM’s Secretariat, Sharif told the Health secretary to visit the affected areas across the province and submit a report within the next 72 hours.
