Hanoians to have free cholera and typhoid vaccines

VietNamNet Bridge – To confront the outbreak of diseases after recent flooding, the Hanoi Department of Health will provide free cholera and typhoid vaccines for people in some areas in Hanoi as of November 11. The Department’s Director Le Anh Tuan said the free vaccines will be delivered to people in high-risk areas in Hanoi from November 11 to 18. Specifically, around 6-7 communes in Thach That district will be provided with cholera vaccine, totalling more than 100,000 doses. Each person will take two doses within 15 days. The department currently has 1,400 doses of typhoid vaccine and it will buy more from the Pasteur Nha Trang Institute to give to people in Chuong My and Thanh Tri districts early next week. This kind of vaccine will be delivered to people of six years old and upwards, one for each person. Some medicines for red eye disease and skin diseases will be allocated to grassroots health stations.
