In addition, the director of the National Institute of bio-medical (INRB) in Kinshasa, Dr. Muyembe Tanfumu said the Ebola virus is a danger that remains in the wild. But he assured that even as health workers were trained in all provinces to detect any kind of epidemic. Dr. Muyembe Tanfumu said that the end of 2007 (between the months of November and December) until early 2008, the disease was under control, "But the virus remains in the wild. If a man comes into contact with this virus, it is infected and causes disease in the community. In 1995, the case of Ebola was recorded in Kikwit in Bandundu. This means that the virus exists in Bandundu. It is also Yambuku, in Ecuador, and certainly in other provinces, "he said. To prevent the disease, "said the doctor, we must implement the integrated disease surveillance. Health workers were trained to detect diseases such as measles, polio and tetanus. Once they detect such epidemics, informing the Ministry of Health to ensure that urgent measures are taken, "said the director of the INRB.
