No fresh case of Bird flu in Assam, WB, Bihar and 1L poultry birds vaccinated in Orissa

In Assam, no fresh case of bird flu has been reported from any part of the state. Official sources said, samples of birds sent to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory at Bhopal from different places in last one week, have tested negative. Culling operations in almost all the 12 notified bird flu infected areas in seven districts have been completed.

In West Bengal also, no fresh case of bird flu has been reported so far from any part of the state. The state government has also initiated preventive measures in other parts of the state to check the spread of avian flu.

In Orissa, around one lakh poultry birds have been vaccinated in eight districts so far. AIR Bhubaneswar correspondent reports that the Centre has provided around ten lakh units of vaccine for this programme.

In Bihar, no case of bird flu has been reported so far from any part of the state. AIR correspondent reports that all the entry points to the state are under surveillance.
