Prohibitory orders imposed in Dumka

Dumka, Dec 26 : Taking preventive steps to check bird flu cases, the sale of imported poultry items, including eggs and poultry food, has been banned in this district.

Official sources said Sub-Divisional Officer K K Das had imposed section 144 CrPC to prevent import of chicken and poultry products from neighbouring West Bengal.

Stern action would be taken against the offenders, the sources said.

The state government, in its direction, had also asked to take preventive measures to check the cases of bird flu.

District animal husbandry officer Vijarprakash Mishra told UNI that so far no case of bird flu was reported in this distric and borders of Masalia and Raneshwar blocks were sealed.

Regional Director of Animal Husbandry Mohammad Saeed said special care was being taken in this region as Sahebganj and Pakur Districts of Dumka commissionery shares its border with West Bengal where bird flu cases were reported.
