In Moldova, expected epidemic of influenza

Doctors will provide assistance at home

According to the forecasts of Moldovan epidemiologists at the end of January - early February, is expected to increase the number of cases of acute respiratory infections and flu. To protect the remaining patients and reduce the number of influenza patients, doctors will provide medical care at home.

As the head of the Laboratory of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Preventive Medicine Peter Skofertse, despite the relatively large number of cases of influenza, the expected figure would still be below last year.

According to him, currently dominated by the influenza virus A (H3N2), fraught with serious manifestations.

In 2008, the Center has acquired 210 thousand doses of influenza vaccine. Last year, Moldova registered more than 2 thousand cases of influenza against about 10 thousand in 2007.
