Up to 8 of 16 poultry samples that were illegally imported from China into Vietnam through the border in Lang Son Province are infected with H5N1 virus, said the chief of the Lang Son Provincial Veterinary Agency Do Van Duoc.
The local administration asked related bodies to tighten control over border areas. The Lang Son Veterinary Agency urgently provided 9 tons of decontamination chemicals to border communes to decontaminate the environment.
