M, 16-year-old students, who lives in Qiandongnan Prefecture of Guizhou Province. Patients January 8, 2009 the incidence in Guizhou whose condition had worsened in the January 16 Huaihua City, Hunan Province into hospitalization. Patient is now in a critical condition and are actively in treatment.

The above comments are from an announcement by the Ministry of Health in China. This is the fourth confirmed H5N1 case this month (see updated map), and increase concerns that H5N1 is silently spreading throughout China. No linkage to dead or dying poultry has been cited. The last confirmed H5N1 in poultry was in Jiangsu last month, which lead to the culling of over 300,000 asymptomatic birds.
