According to Vo Ngoc Linh, head of the Chau Hung commune medical centre, Ly Thi Hang, 26, ate sick ducks nearly a month ago. She was admitted to the general hospital of nearby Bac Lieu province on March 16 with symptoms such as headache, exhaustions and coughing. The four-year-old patient Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen has been isolated and given intensive care around the clock at the hospital. Doctors said that she is showing signs of recovery.
