A 23-year-old youth, who returned Bardia from Qatar four days ago, has been admitted to a hospital after he was suspected to be suffering from swine flu.

Bhim Bahadur Chaudhary of Nayagau-8, Bardiya, has been taken to Nepalgunj-based Bheri Zonal Hospital in the district with suspected swine flu symptoms.

Police took Chaudhary, who was at large from Tribhuvan International Airport, under control and admitted to the hospital.

Chaudary is kept in isolation and under observation.

However, blood test reports are awaited and a case of swine flu is yet to be ascertained, said Dr. Shyam Sundar Yadav, chief of the zonal hospital.

Till now no case of H1N1 virus has been detected in this area.

Swine flu victims recovered

Three persons diagnosed with swine flue last month have been cured after a treatment in isolation for five days, health officials say.

The patients were given a full course of Tamiflu for five days and their disease have been cured completely, said Dr Senendra Raj Upreti, director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division. They need not be kept in isolation anymore as they are not capable of transmitting the disease to others now.

Three members of a family, a 44-four year old man, a 38-year old woman and an eight-year old child, who entered Nepal on June 21 from the USA via Doha were found infected with the Pandeminc Influenza ‘A’ H1N1. They were treated in isolation at their home.

Later two other persons who had come in contact with the victims were also diagnosed with swine flu. They are still undergoing treatment.
