Indonesia: This year, there have been nine cases of bird flu

JAKARTA. Bird flu cases still occur in Indonesia. This year, there have been nine cases of bird flu. The last case occurred in Bali some time ago.

Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih said the bird flu virus will never be lost. However, he added, the spread of bird flu cases could be prevented.

This year, Endang said, bird flu cases continue to decline compared to last year. At present, he said, there are about 30 provinces in Indonesia are still the endemic areas of bird flu.

Therefore, the government had anticipated prevent transmission. Endang admitted that he had worked with the Ministry of Agriculture to implement a clean and healthy living behaviors.

Members of the House of Representatives Commission IX Riski Sadiq expect the government to explain the steps taken in the prevention of the spread of bird flu. According to him, the Ministry of Health should take preventive measures to prevent the spread of bird flu.
