Tighten Control of Poultry Disnakanlut


. After being killed in Bangli, now suspect cases of bird flu return upon three residents of Badung.  To counteract such cases, the ranks of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (Disnakanlut) Denpasar increasingly tighten controls of poultry and poultry meat.

Head of Denpasar Disnakanlut Ambara Gede Putra, Monday (31/10) yesterday, claimed to have improved control, better monitoring of live poultry and on poultry meat. ''Efforts to anticipate this problem, we have been doing surveillance of poultry in and also the meat,''he said.

For surveillance of poultry meat, Ambara said it has lowered the team to conduct investigation into the markets, especially to poultry traders.  In addition to direct supervision, Ambara also admitted to routinely conduct outreach to villages and urban villages. ''Step that we do more as a form of anticipation,''he explained.

In addition, surveillance of poultry farmers pockets in Denpasar also remain to be done.
