Indo: Disnak Monitor the Entry of Poultry Jember Difficulties #H5N1

Jember - Animal Husbandry Department Jember admitted the difficulty to monitor traffic to the entry of poultry Jember, East Java, in order to anticipate the spread of bird flu or "avian influenza" in the local district.

"Officers are difficult to monitor traffic and tighten the entrance of poultry in a number of border-Bondowoso and Jember Jember-Lumajang because of limited staff," said Kasi Observation Diseases in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Marine Jember, Siti Nurul Hayati, Wednesday.

A total of 89 chickens that died suddenly owned by 23 residents in the Hamlet of Karang Baru, Desa Silo, Kecamatan Silo, Jember, tested positive for bird flu virus.

According to him, the cause of outbreaks of bird flu in New Coral Hamlet allegedly due to the entry of poultry from outside the area that had been infected with bird flu virus and the virus is transmitted to poultry owned by residents in Jember.

"I was informed that the District Bondowoso and Banyuwangi found chickens that died of bird flu, so it is possible that infected poultry chickens brought by traders who sold in Jember," he explained.

In addition, he said, the transition seasons namely the transition from dry to rainy season become one of the natural factors cause outbreaks of bird flu in Jember.

Meanwhile, residents who suspected (suspect) bird flu increased from five to seven people who underwent isolation care at community health centers (PHC) Shiloh 2 ( Silo 2).
