26/01/2012
Rohmat (18), residents Ciodeng Village, Village Blooms Jaya, Panongan Subdistrict, Tangerang regency, not proven to suffer from bird flu. Based on laboratory tests Kemenkes, Rohmat exposed to swine flu (H1N1).

According to Head of Research and Development Dr. Dr. Trihono Kemenkes Health, MSc, swine flu death rate is smaller than bird flu. Therefore it suggests Rohmat also suffer from another disease that caused her death.

"Swine flu can be from human to human. In Mexico also happens that way. The H1N1 virus is spreading rapidly but a small death rate, unlike the bird flu. I think this R died of comorbidities. So do not miss a single cause of death due to swine flu, "Trihono light.

Here is an interview with AFP Trihono, Thursday (26/01/2012):

Really Rohmat Tangerang resident died of swine flu?

Based on examination there was H1N1. Swine flu or swine flu is the term. First came indeed from there (pig). But now that can spread from human to human, then it could be suffered by people around him there are no pigs.

So it's not because in some patients no pig farms or animals?

Not. Swine flu can be from human to human. In Mexico also occurs so. The H1N1 virus is spreading rapidly but a small death rate, unlike the bird flu. I think it died because the R-morbidities. So no single cause of death due to swine flu.

Could swine flu because of exposure and the patient received concomitant penyakir which then caused it to die?

Yes, it could happen. Because when a person has the flu, body resistance is reduced. When conditions are more susceptible to decline other diseases. As a result, the added weight.

If he had swine flu or any other flu virus, there would be a lot more people sick with it besides just him.. I ain't buying it.

Unless the viruses have recombined and he had a mutant case of swine flu with H5 virulence, another catastrophic speculation I hate to utter. It could explain a couple of these negative test results lately. But then again, what kind of test was this, because the virus cannot always be found in the blood. It's the reason why donor blood recipients do not die from influenza all the time, because even seasonal flu would be deadly if contracted that way. I could be wrong, maybe donor blood is thoroughly tested for flu. But blood center personnel didn't seem concerned about it when I asked them.
