MERSİN - Anatolia News Agency
Saudi Arabia, which had restricted the importation of Turkish poultry following the bird flu epidemic in 2005, has lifted the ban, paving the way for Turkish poultry exporters to access the Saudi market. “Saudi Arabia imports 500,000 tons of poultry annually and is one of the world’s leading poultry importers. We now intend to provide about 150,000 to 200,000 tons of this,” said Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, the head of the Mediterranean Water Products and Animal Products Exporters Union.
Yamanyılmaz said that by expanding to the Saudi market, the sector would increase its export figure. http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/saudis-lift-ban-on-turkish-poultry.aspx?pageID=238&nID=12455&NewsCatID=344
