Japan to develop new universal avian influenza vaccine

2009-02-16

Japanese Health, Labor and Welfare Group has recently developed a be able to deal with all types of avian influenza virus vaccines. Different from the previous avian flu vaccine, by animal experiments confirmed that this new type of vaccine even if the virus mutates in maintaining sustained effectiveness.

Japan's "Yomiuri Shimbun" reported that a few days ago, the researchers within the virus is not easy variation of synthetic proteins, and then paste special on lipid membranes made of this new type of vaccine. Inoculation of this vaccine, the immune cells will attack infected cells. Although the clinical application of distance is still required several years of time, but the success of this study makes the prevention of new avian influenza virus possible.

In the experiment, researchers will have a high degree of variability in the H5N1 type, A Soviet-type and A type of three Hong Kong avian influenza virus by a total synthesis of the internal proteins produced vaccine. This vaccination will be embedded into the mouse of human genes in vivo, although infected with the above-mentioned three kinds of viruses, and mice also showed no symptoms, and virus cell reproduction has also been contained. But whether this new vaccine for the human body is not yet known, it is necessary to carry out a more careful experiment.
