BANGKOK, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Public Health Ministry on Wednesday announced 16 more deaths due to the A/H1N1 influenza infection, bringing the country's death toll to 81.
Of the total death cases, a large number of the victims died due to having congenital diseases with overweight problems, the ministry said.
Also, the victims went to see doctors too late after developingthe new flu, the ministry said. On average, after having had the new flu for five to six days, the victims went to see doctors.
Every Wednesday the Thai government schedules to announce the country's A/H1N1 outbreak situation, including the death toll.
Thailand had its first two confirmed patients on May 12.
